LOST

Tonight is the night I have been waiting for, the season premier of LOST. This is only the greatest T.V. show ever produced.
This semester I am taking an introduction to Philosophy of Religion. My background in Philosophy is very limited. Last Fall Justin Taylor posted on his blog a book suggestion. The title of the book is "LOST and Philosophy: The Island Has Its Reasons" (you can find a link to the post here )
This book was both helpful and exciting. Many fans of LOST begin to identify their selves with a certain character on the show. I always said that I identified myself with John Locke. It was interesting to read and understand how the philosophers writing in this book understood Locke (both the character and the philosopher). So my question is and was, how much do I really identify with this man?
So watch the show (if you are behind or 'lost' there is a 8 minute clip on iTunes that will bring you up to speed), read the book and think beyond the surface.
Good luck........Who will be saved?

Preaching

This is a call for your favorite quote(s) on preaching.
Here is one that I enjoy (disclaimer: It is not particularly about preaching. Rather it is more along the lines of the substance of what is to be preached.)

“If there’s anything in life that we should be passionate about, it’s the gospel. And I don’t mean passionate about sharing it with others. I mean passionate about thinking about it, dwelling on it, rejoicing in it, allowing it to color the way we look at the world. Only one thing can be of first importance to each of us. And only the gospel ought to be.”
- C. J. Mahaney, The Cross Centered Life

So post your favorite quotes and then check this out: Between Two Worlds
