Hermeneutics and Children

I would suggest that some of the issues mention by Dr. Walton are not only specific to curriculum for children but also in curriculum designed for other age groups as well. Especially when it come to the Old Testament.

This is why I am a big fan of teaching with a catechism...not that it isn't possible to teach children directly out of the Bible. I think that should be done, but many of our littlest Baptists have a poor framework for interpreting what is taught.

Also a good resource for children is found ( http://www.christianfocus.com/contributor/show/45/- )at that site. I have viewed some of the books (and was able to meet with the author) but these children books are very good. It does seem that even up to high school and college the Bible is still only a part of the lesson plan, that God is almost a footnote.
