Is this the best they've got?

Is this really the best argument they have? I am amazed that people can be so blind to the truth. Watch this video and see for yourselves. This is empty rhetoric at its best.

Here's a couple of observations:

1. It is not hard to know when life begins. Science has a few clear cut criteria for determining this and a human embryo meets all of these criteria (growth, metabolism, response, etc).

2. I wonder if they would beat around the bush this much if they were at a pro-choice rally?

3. Christians have dug themselves into a hole on this one. The fact that there are even debates about this in Christian denominations is frightening (Clinton just had to bring up the fact that she's a Methodist).

4. Potential life?

5. And last but not least, my favorite quote:

"Our task should be in this pluralistic diverse life of ours in this nation, that individuals must be entrusted to make this profound decision. Because the alternative would be such an entrusion of government authority, that it would be very difficult to sustain in our kind of open society."

This one is just too easy. I could really talk about just this one quote all day, but I've got to get to some homework. If I were a better blogger, I would look up another quote where Sen. Clinton says the exact opposite in another context (but I'm not).

For Mr. Obama, I am thrilled that he ‘takes into consideration’ the power of ‘potential life’ when making decisions on abortion. Also, if he has not come to a ‘firm resolution’ should he have a firm opinion; in other words, remind me, how does one make a decision that ‘may or may not kill’ only on presumption.

For Mrs. Clinton, the problem that she and many seem have is that there is such near-sightedness and a destructive ‘out of sight out of mind.’ In the same way that many of us Americans don’t flinch when mud-slides in India kill 30 people is the same problem present with Mrs. Clinton, we cannot see it, we cannot know, it is easier to just eliminate it out of our minds. Also, since when does Mrs. Clinton scare at the government intrusion on peoples’ lives?

The problem is when those who have the power to kill do so based on what they know, and what they know is only experiential and is, of course, not all-knowing. That is why there is such an importance on Biblical views because they come from a being that knows all. We do not need to be so confused about issues that are so obvious.
